Lilac-breasted Roller, Tanzania
Tom Gubala, of Bellevue, Wash., sent in this photo of a lilac-breasted roller in Tanzania.
He spotted the colorful bird while on a safari in late summer 2011. Gubala and his wife were lucky enough to see the African 'big five' -- the cape buffalo, lion, elephant, rhino and leopard -- in the course of about six hours.
"That was a great trip and that bird just posed for me," Gubala told TODAY.com

All in six hours huh? Sounds like a ride at an amusement park rather than a safari.
